Drug Abuse Day on 02.07.2025
On 2nd July 2025, the School of Pharmacy, Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan University (DSU) solemnly observed Drug Abuse Day to spread awareness on the dangers of substance abuse and to highlight the importance of living a healthy, drug-free life.
The program commenced with the pledge-taking ceremony, in which the students of the School of Pharmacy pledged to abstain from drugs, raise awareness among peers, and work collectively towards building a society free from the menace of drug abuse. The pledge was delivered with strong conviction, reflecting the determination of young minds to stand united against this global social evil.
Faculty members addressed the gathering, emphasizing the psychological, social, and health-related consequences of drug addiction, and urged students to be ambassadors of change by spreading awareness within their communities. They also highlighted the role of pharmacists as healthcare professionals in educating the public, counselling patients, and supporting de-addiction initiatives.
The event provided students with a deeper understanding of their responsibility in combating drug abuse, not only as individuals but also as future pharmacists who play a crucial role in ensuring the well-being of society. The observance concluded with a collective commitment to uphold the values of a healthy lifestyle and to contribute actively towards the vision of a drug-free society.
