The CME on "Obesity and Metabolic Syndrome" was organised by the Department of Biochemistry. Dr. K. Sriram, Senior Resident of General Medicine talked about Metabolic Syndrome. This was followed with a lecture by Dr. G. Vignesh, MD, DM, consultant endocrinologist on the "Why do people get obese? Exploring the molecular & hormonal link to obesity" with emphasis on the diagnosis, molecular, metabolic & hormonal causes for obesity and the positive lifestyle modifications to prevent obesity epidemic.
