CME on Ca Breast
A Focussed academic CME was conducted in Srinivasan Medical college and Hospital on Dec 22, 2023. It was a full day hybrid meet which included in person as well as virtual delegates. Postgraduates, practising general surgeons and surgical oncologists from Tamilnadu as well as other states participated and benefitted from the programme. E-poster competition was held and winner was awarded certificate and cash prize. A quiz was conducted at the end of session and the winner was awarded memento and cash prize.
The CME started with the welcome address of the Dean Dr A Thulasi at 9 30 am and continued with 4 sessions which detailed evaluation and management of Ca Breast. The chief guest, chair persons and speakers were welcomed and felicitated for their participation. The highlights of the program included were comprehensive presentations, video demonstrations and virtual case discussions. Postgraduates actively participated in the quiz and interacted with the speakers during the virtual case discussion and video sessions. The CME concluded with the vote of thanks at 4 30 pm.
The program inception and coordination was done by Dr Vijayasarathy, Surgical Oncologist, SMCH. He conducted a series of comprehensive discussions on various topics and focussed on providing crystal clear concepts regarding management of Ca breast.
The sessions were chaired by Dr Rajagopal, Dr SSR and Dr Vishnu, Department of General surgery, SMCH. The chief guest was Dr Senthil Kumar, Surgical Oncologist, Silverline Hospital, Trichy He presented surgical videos with demonstration of operative steps and dicussed tips and tricks. Dr Narendran, Medical Oncologist, provided insight on neoadjuvant chemotherapy in Ca Breast. Dr Rahul, Radiation Oncologist detailed about the radiotherapy field and techniques used. Dr Sivapragash, Surgical Oncologist, provided overview on the management of in situ carcinoma and phyllodes tumor of breast.
The CME was widely appreciated by delegates. All the speakers and supporting team which included beloved Dean, administration department, audiovisual and outsource were congratulated for the success of CME.
