The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, School of Engineering and Technology at Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan University organized a guest lecture on the topic “Smart Gas Sensors for Future Healthcare: Bringing the Hospital Home” on April 28, 2026.
The event was further supported by Programme Advisors Dr. C. K. Ranjan, Vice Chancellor, Dr. Dhanasekaran Devaraj, Registrar, and Dr. V. Sekar, Dean of the School of Engineering and Technology.
The resource person for the session was Dr. R. Sankar Ganesh, Project Researcher at The University of Tokyo. He delivered an insightful lecture highlighting the role of smart gas sensing technologies in modern healthcare, emphasizing remote patient monitoring and the concept of bringing hospital-level diagnostics into home environments.
The session, held at the Seminar Hall, SET Block, witnessed active participation from faculty members and students. The lecture provided valuable exposure to emerging trends in healthcare technology and encouraged students to explore innovative solutions in sensor-based applications.
