HANDS-ON TRAINING WORKSHOP ON VENTILATOR CLINICAL APPLICATIONS, ON 31-05-2026
The Department of Operation Theatre and Anaesthesia Technology (OTAT), School of Allied Health Sciences, proudly participated in a One-Day Onsite Hands-on Training Workshop on Ventilator Clinical Applications, Troubleshooting, and Live Patient Scenario Management held on 31st May 2026 at Rajalakshmi Hall AC, Madurai. A total of 17 students from 2ND years and 1 faculty member attended the intensive training program organized by KAV Biomedical Equipment Training & Education.
The workshop provided an immersive learning experience, enabling participants to gain practical exposure to modern ventilator systems used in critical care settings.
Expert trainers demonstrated various modes of mechanical ventilation, patient monitoring techniques, alarm management, and systematic troubleshooting procedures. Through interactive sessions and live patient scenarios, participants developed a deeper understanding of respiratory support strategies and emergency response protocols. The workshop also introduced participants to key concepts such as hemodynamic stability, ventilator synchrony, pulmonary compliance, oxygenation optimization, and clinical vigilance.
Such exposure helped bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-world clinical practice. The Department of OTAT remains committed to encouraging students to participate in skill-oriented programs that promote innovation, clinical excellence, and lifelong learning.
The knowledge and expertise acquired during this workshop will undoubtedly contribute to the students’ professional growth and their ability to deliver safe, effective, and compassionate patient care in critical care environments.
