The Department of Optometry, School of Allied Health Sciences, Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan University, successfully organized the VisionX Third Optometry Online Lecture Series on 10th June 2026, reaffirming its commitment to promoting academic excellence and lifelong learning in the field of optometry. The virtual programme brought together students, faculty members, and eye care professionals from diverse institutions, creating an engaging platform for knowledge exchange and professional development. The session featured Mrs. Ramya Lakshmikanth, Associate Professor, Sri Jayendra Saraswathi Institute of Optometry, Chennai, as the distinguished resource person.
She delivered an insightful lecture on "Basics of Binocular Vision," presenting a comprehensive overview of the physiological principles, sensory and motor mechanisms, and clinical significance of binocular vision. The session also highlighted the assessment and management of binocular vision anomalies, enabling participants to strengthen their conceptual understanding and clinical reasoning skills. Her lucid explanations and practical illustrations fostered an interactive learning environment that was highly appreciated by the attendees.
